Success and Happiness is Not Always Material
By Alan Kintel
When most people think of happiness and being successful they think of owning big houses, fast cars, expensive designer clothes and how big of a bank balance you have, however, how successful and happy you are does not necessarily depend on the material things you have in life.
The same applies to wealth, it doesn’t matter how much money you had, would you really think that you had enough? Would having a bank account with thousands of dollars make such a difference to your life, would it bring you anymore happiness or success than you have now?
We all want to live a comfortable life, without struggling each month to pay bills, that’s only natural, but apart from that money doesn’t bring true happiness and success, you can have thousands in the bank but if you’re alone in life, without real friends and family, without love, then you can never find true happiness and success.
*True friends – if you can count on one hand five true friends who are always there for you through thick and thin then your are rich indeed
*Health – if you have good health through taking care of what you eat, exercising regularly then this is far more valuable than any amount of money in the bank
*A family – if you have a family around you who loves you then you will have a successful, rewarding and very happy life
*A good character – if you are an honest, kind and truthful person in all situations then you have success beyond your wildest dreams.

I think happiness means different things to different people, I have to sit down and make a list of what really makes me happy. I believe happiness comes from within. It comes from feeling good. Happiness is inside us, in our minds, in our thinking. Money can not buy happiness & success . :)

Study English
My mother language is Thai. English is a second language to me I used to study basic rules of grammar in my high school graduate, 1st in university and many years ago I used to study English at AUA Language Center on Saturday after noon with 4 friends. AUA has a 15 level, multi-skills Regular Program, but I studied only1- 8 level because that time AUA had no class 9 on Saturday afternoon. I did not convenien to study in another time then I had to quite it.
I used to read this, but I am not sure I read this from where “ After finish class the Students know how to use English; how to listen, speak, read or write. But to be good at using English does not just KNOW HOW. The students have to USE it, have to EXPERIENCE it, for real, not just KNOW it. Knowing is not enough. Grammar is not that difficult. Practice is a lot more difficult than grammar. The more you practice, the more skill you have.” I think so because every time when I quite or don’t use English in daily life. I always feel I forgot it, but if I use English every day, I feel I can understand& know words in English more.
This time, I intend to practice English every day by reading, writing, listening & speaking. I read more books, news paper, tblog posts, searching the articles in web for reading. I try to memorize less 15 words per day. I listen to English radio & music. I keep writing day after day I write something in English.
I want to use English more clearly.
I want to understand English more clearly.
I want to write clear sentences.
I have to be good at reading, writing, listening & speaking.
I WILL KEEP PRACTIC ENGLISH EVEN I HAVE TO TAKE A LONG TIME.
PS. I Just read my e-mail from John about Andrea’ news. Oh!! I am feeling better.
Hi all, Today was pretty eventful. Andrea was up and interacting for about 5 hours today. She seemed to understand most things she was told, and did much better at making responses. She still confuses words, and loses her train of though, but to a much lesser extent. She was able to eat two meals during that time, and did a slow walk around the unit. They removed her catheter, so all she has left is a saline drip IV. Several physical therapists came by to assess her, and indicated that they think she's ready to be moved out of the hospital and to a rehab facility. They still need to doctors to agree to this, and to get her off the last IV, in order for this to happen. We're hoping to get her into a rehab center in Roanoke, which is fairly close to home. At first she's be an in-patient, then transition to out-patient. They think she might be doing rehab for six months. If all goes well, the move out of the ospital could happen this week. Once again, the love and support of many people are keeping us afloat. Many, many thanks. We're very lucky & very grateful.
-John I really love tblog , here is like tblog family concern , love , care, help, advise, share & give the good things as we can!!!!!!

The Key to Improving Memory and Learning
By Bhaskar Banerjee
A good memory is an asset and it comes with practice. Slack attention is a major cause of poor memory. When we are asleep and dreaming, we rarely remember the dream. Why? Because in sleep we are not conscious of the happenings outside, thefore no memory is formed. We only have a memory of what we experience in the conscious state. Logically it follows therefore that if we can practice to remain alert and aware in everything that we do, we can gradually improve our memory-retaining capacity.
And for this we need to chastise our unconscious mind. The unconscious mind is like a computer – it needs careful programming. If thoughts of fear, worry and failure are constantly channelled into the unconscious mind, nothing very creative or constructive is going to be sent back. But if you steadfastly hold a clear, purposeful goal in the conscious mind, the unconscious will eventually accept it and begin to supply the conscious mind with plans, ideas, insights, and the energies to achieve that goal. Clarity of purpose and intensity of desire are indispensable.
Though we may find it difficult to accept, the fact is that most of us constantly and unconsciously short-circuit ourselves with alibis like, “I am not really good at this”, “I know I am stupid” and “I can’t.” Replace these self-limiting thoughts with self-assuring thoughts like, “I can if I think I can” or “if I have made mistakes, even serious ones, there is always another chance to improve.” This will help you to persevere and focus. Just remain aware.
A very practical way of remaining aware is to try and be as involved as you can in every small activity of your life. When you eat, become Hunger, when you drink, become Thirst. When you are taking a bath or tying the lace of your shoes, do so with utmost care and love. Consciously put your keys on the top of the fridge, under the centre table of your drawing room, and see whether you remember? With a little practice, you will find that you are much less forgetful now. The more intensely attentive you are, the more your life will start changing. It will happen on its own accord; it will be a natural growth, spontaneous.
Remember, process is more important than results. Repetition of a positive thought as well as any activity becomes a mantra, an incantation, creating a new channel in the brain, starting to give us fresh energy. This is practice or sadhana. But when we emphasize results rather than the process by which knowledge in awareness is acquired, our action loses that intensity of involvement of which the results are a natural consequence. Then we deprive ourselves of the joy of growth and actually reduce our rate of learning.
Be total in everything you do. It will give you experience. And, real-life experiences require no memory. Empathy is the key, the key that can and does make others’ experience your very own. Become Experiential. Nothing more is required.

Get a great body in 5 steps
Here are some interesting exercise s that can be done at home easily without any equipment. Also you can do it wherever you want!
Do one to three sets of each exercise, with eight to 15 repetitions per set.
Step 1: The warm up
Leg lifts: Stand with your feet apart at hip width. Place your hands on your hips. Bend both knees slightly and shift most of your weight onto your left leg.
Keeping your knee slightly bent, lift your right leg up and out to the side, about six inches. Lower to the original position. Repeat with the right leg, then with the left.
Arm curls: Use hand weights or dumbbells. Hold a weight in each hand, arms at your sides, palms facing forward.
Stand with your feet apart at hip width, knees slightly bent. Curl the weights up to your shoulders, then lower to the original position.
Step 2: Stretch exercises
Hamstring stretch: Lie on the floor and stretch your legs. Raise your left leg, using a towel to assist, until you feel the tension in your hamstring. Hold. Repeat on other side.
Inner thigh stretches: Sit on floor; place the soles of your feet together. Drop your knees toward floor. Gradually, lower your torso towards the floor until you feel a gentle tension in your inner thighs. Release.
Modified hurdler: Sit on floor, right leg extended, left foot against the right knee. Lower your torso and reach for your ankle until your hamstring feels tight. Repeat on other side.
Step 3: Floor exercises
Crunches: Lie on the floor with your feet hip width apart. Cradle your head in your hands without lacing your fingers together and with your elbows pointed slightly inward.
Tilt your chin a little bit toward your chest and pull your abdominal muscles in. Exhale through your mouth as you curl your head, neck and shoulders up off the floor. Hold this position for a moment, then inhale as you return to your original position.
Squats: Stand tall with your feet apart at hip width, with your weight slightly back on your heels. Place your hands on your hips. Sit back and down as if you're sitting into a chair directly behind you. Lower as far as you can without leaning your upper body more than a few inches forward (this depends on your flexibility and your build).
If you can bend your knees far enough so that your thighs are parallel to the floor, stop. Don't allow your knees to travel out in front of your toes. Once you feel your upper body fold forward over your thighs, straighten your legs and stand up. Take care not to lock your knees as you complete the movement.
Push-ups: Lie on your stomach. Bend your knees and cross your ankles. Bend your elbows and place your palms on the floor, in front of your shoulders and a bit to the side. Straighten your arms and lift your body so you are balanced on your palms and knees.
Tuck your chin a few inches towards your chest so that your forehead faces the floor. Tighten your abdominal muscles. Bend your elbows and lower your entire body at once. Rather than trying to touch your chest to the floor, lower until your upper arms are parallel to the floor. Push back up.
Step 4: Stretching exercises
Dips: Sit at the edge of the desk or on a sturdy chair. Place your hands with the palms facing your body. Slide yourself off the seat and support yourself with just with your hands. Slowly lower yourself by bending your elbows until your upper arms are parallel to the floor, and then press yourself back.
Lunges: Stretch your legs a stride's distance apart. Slowly bend your knees until you are in a kneeling position with your knees not quite touching the floor. Don't look down; don't allow your knees to shoot out past your toes. Return to your original position.
Step 5: Face exercises
~ Tilt your head backwards. Let your upper lip cover your lower lip. Maintain the posture as you curl your tongue up inside the mouth and press it against your upper palette. Then smile.
~ This exercise helps to get rid of furrows and lines on the forehead. All you have to do is lift the eyebrows upward and open your eyes wider with each count.
~ Place the entire thumb inside your mouth, between the teeth of the upper jaw and the upper lip. Press the upper lip back into the teeth so that your thumb is squeezed.

Benefits of Walking Exercise
It is said that every person has two doctors with him... his right leg & his left leg. A vigorous 5 mile walk can do more good for an unhappy but otherwise healthy man than any medicine or psychology. it is the easiest exercise for most individuals, one that can done without equipment except good shoes, in most terrains & weather & also in very old age.
What we are talking about is not just walking but brisk walking. Here are the benefits of the same--
Why walking ?
Walking is the most natural exercise known to man.
Besides this, here are the other benefits of walking ---
1 ) Walking improves circulation
& nbsp; Calf muscles are man's second heart. On walking, these muscles pump the blood to the heart with all force. This leads to greater heart exercise, increased oxygen requirement & better blood circulation.
2) Walking is good for the heart
The increased oxygen requirements lead to exercise for the heart. On a long term basis, it leads to a better circulation for the heart. Thus it reduces the chances of a heart attack.
2 ) Walking cuts fatigue
& nbsp; Once daily brisk walking has become a habit, you start reaping the benefits.
Soon there is no need of any laxatives.
No more low back ache.
No more of that catch while bending.
Above all, in shape body is not easily fatigued.
3 ) Walking improves the posture.
4 ) Psychological benefits
Many studies have shown enormous psychological benefits of walking. It has been shown that daily walking habit reduces anxiety, tension & improves mood.
What is "brisk walking"?
It has been shown that what works best is not walking but "brisk walking". Scientifically, it correlates with the pulse rate that you should achieve for the maximum benefit. However, simply speaking, brisk walking means : a level that's not just strolling; but not out pf breath either.
How many minutes a day should one walk briskly?
No study has established the exact time for the maximum benefit. However 45minutes to 1 hour is a good guide.
You can even incorporate it in your daily life style. That way you will automatically walk briskly to the office & for that matter anywhere. A short brisk walk is is worth two miles of ambling. That way you will easily get minimal amount of good exercise every day. And, as striding becomes a habit, you will soon get more exercise, willingly.

Love works in ways
that are wondrous and strange
And there's nothing in life
that love cannot change!
Love can transform
the most common place
Into beauty and splendor
and sweetness and grace.
Love is unselfish,
understanding and kind,
For it sees with its heart
and not with its mind.
Love is the answer
that everyone seeks...
Love is the language
that every heart speaks.
Love can't be bought,
it is priceless and free,
Love, like pure magic,
is life's sweet mystery

If it's because of her/his eyes or her/his lips or her/his great body,
it's not love, it's lust.
If it's because of her/his intelligence and practicality And Insights about life, it's not love, it's admiration.
If it's because she/he cries everytime you try to leave,
it's not love, it's pity.
If it's because she/he makes you forget to eat and sleep and study,
it's not love, it's infatuation.
If it's because she/he seems to be too weak to stand on her/his own,
it's not love, it's concern.
If it's because she/he looks like your ex,
it's not love it's transference.
If you can lay down your life for her/his,
i's not love, it's heroism.
Love is when you do not know why you seem to be
attracted to a cer! tain person.
Love is when you grow with that person
But finding out that you are growing not as one but as two different persons like the railroad tracks you see everyday same destination
but not one track for then the train would not be able to move.

Good Thought
#Before you think of saying an unkind word
Think of someone who can't speak
#Before you complain about the taste of your food
Think of someone who has nothing to eat
#Before you complain about your husband or wife
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion
#Today before you complain about life
Think of someone who went too early to heaven
# Before you complain about your children
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren
#Before you argue about your dirty house; someone didn't clean or sweep
Think of the people who are living in the streets
#Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet
#And when you are tired and complain about your job
Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job
#But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another
Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker
#And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
Put a smile on your face, you're alive and still around
Life is a gift
Live it...
Enjoy it...
Celebrate it...
And fulfill it.***unknown****

Enjoying a Wonderful Day
by Remez Sasson
1.# Waking up earlier gives you more time in the morning, so why not enjoy a nourishing and tasty breakfast? Prepare something you love, something that you usually do not have the time to prepare in the morning. You have got the time today.
2# Endeavor to be aware of what you are doing throughout the day. When you eat for example, pay attention to your food, and don't read the newspaper or watch the television at the same time. If you do so, you will enjoy your food much more. In the same way try to focus your attention on your other activities. Concentrating on what you are doing helps you do it better and more efficiently.
3# Remember to smile more often during the day. It is important that the smile is not a artificial, but that it comes from inside you. Smiling makes you and other people feel happier.
4# Expect the best and do your best.
5# Be patient and tolerant toward others.
6# Coming to work with a strong intention to have a great day, and handling everything in a positive and decisive manner, will have its influence upon the people whom you come in contact with. This will help you to broadcast peace, good will and happiness.
7# Do your best to be nice and polite today, to your family, colleagues, friends, the seller at the grocery or supermarket, to the bus or cab driver, to the delivery boy and to anyone else you meet today. It is all a matter of inner attitude and choice. Exercise your power to choose a polite and considerate attitude.
8# Make a decision that during this special day you are going to handle everything in a cool and calm way. If you need to meet someone or do something that usually makes you feel nervous or irritated, have a talk with yourself beforehand. Tell yourself that you are going to stay calm and relaxed, and that you are going to handle everything in the best way. If you feel you need it, make several mental rehearsals. Visualize yourself going through the situation in a very efficient way, and achieving a positive outcome.
9# In this special day act unhurriedly. Do your best to stay relaxed. Remind yourself often that it is your beautiful, wonderful day. Invite into your mind thoughts and feelings of happiness, satisfaction and competence. Imagine scenes and events from your past experiences, when you felt good and happy. By concentrating on these mental images you let the associated feelings and emotions well up again. Enjoy these good feelings, and try to go on enjoying them, even after you stop thinking about them.
10# When back home from work, what about a flower, a book, or some other small gift to your spouse and children? Even a smile, a hug or a kiss will do. You have tried all day to be kind to other people and stay positive. Do this at home too. Devote some quality time to your family. You have been out the whole day; now enjoy being together with them. Earning money to suppurt your family is not enough. They need to feel your love and attention too.
11# During this special day, make also some special effort to use your time more efficiently. Do not watch too much TV, and shorten the time that you read the newspaper. It is better to use this time to read something inspiring that will help you improve your life, or devote a few minutes to meditation in the afternoon or evening.
The above are suggestions to show you what you can do. You can adapt these hints to your specific situation.
Try to live one wonderful day. Then enjoy another day like it. If you continue, this will become a habit.
Remember that today is a special and wonderful day. It is different from the other days.

Learning To Love Yourself
By Leslie Karen Lobell, M.A.
There are many ways for us to love and to care for ourselves... The possibilities are infinite. One way to learn to love yourself is to act as if you already do (i.e., "Fake it till you make it"). An important way to love yourself is to nourish and care for your body: eat healthy foods and exercise regularly. You may want to "treat" yourself to things like a massage, a facial, a pedicure, or a gym membership. Taking breaks and having fun are important, as well. Whether alone, with a friend, or with a partner, you may want to have a night out on the town: go out for a nice dinner, go dancing, and/or attend the theater, a concert, the ballet, or a movie. If you tend to be a workaholic -- or if you are more a saver than a spender -- then perhaps it is time to take a well-deserved, long-overdue vacation. Of course, treating yourself does not need to involve great expense: you can take a bubble bath, eat dinner at home by candlelight, take a walk on the beach, swim in the ocean (those waters are very healing), or watch a sunset. Perhaps you enjoy taking time to paint or to write. These are just a few ideas... You can put your own imagination to work...
Another way to enhance self-love and self-esteem is to be aware of your self-talk (those things that you say to yourself inside your head). Speak to yourself in ways that are more kind, and less mean or abusive. Many of us have very harsh inner critics: When we make a mistake, this critical voice inside our head beats up on us, saying things like, "That was so stupid! ... I can't do anything right! ... What a loser!" We need to replace these negative messages with other, more positive ones. For example, "I made a mistake. That's okay: That is how I learn. I'll know better the next time." With awareness, over time, you can "catch yourself" when your self-talk is negative, and change the message to something more positive and "ego-enhancing."
Don't just "catch yourself being wrong." "Catch yourself being right." In other words, don't just catch the voice of your inner critic, and stop it from beating up on you. When you do something well, or when you find yourself saying the right things to yourself or to others, be sure to reward yourself: acknowledge yourself verbally, give yourself a pat on the back, or treat yourself to something special.
Yet another way you can learn to love yourself is by being in the practice of using positive affirmations. Take some time to come up with the qualities that you most want to embody. Choose about two or three to focus on for any one period of time. Then try this for at least a month: Repeat those qualities daily, telling yourself that you are those things, already. Whether or not you currently believe it, say it anyway... Again, "Fake it till you make it." For example, take time to tell yourself, each day, "I am happy and successful" or "I am beautiful and bright" or "I love my body: I feel healthy and in balance" or "I am loving, caring, and worthy of love" or "I am powerful and self-confident" ... whatever qualities you wish to be. You may want to write out these affirmations and post them someplace where you will see them regularly: on the bathroom mirror, on the refrigerator door, by the clock in your bedroom, atop your computer monitor, or somewhere in front of your desk at work. Even if, at first, you feel silly or uncomfortable repeating or reading these phrases, you may find that you grow into and become these qualities. You may even realize that you embodied them all along; you just had not realized it.
So, go ahead. Love yourself. Be good to yourself. Treat yourself well. Replenish yourself. You will discover that, the more you love yourself, the more you will be able to give love to others - and the more others will want to be around you and give back to you. This is a win-win situation. Loving yourself will ultimately benefit the lives of others you encounter, as well as your own life.
